Arneal Squibb, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound outfielder from Mishawaka HS, has committed to Heidelberg University. Squibb posted a .406 batting average with a .491 on base percentage, 7 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 25 RBIs and 30 runs scored last spring for the Cavemen. He was selected as a 2nd Team All-Conference member and received several team awards (Iron Man, Most Doubles, Team MVP, and Batting Champ). Squibb, entering his fourth season at the varsity level, recorded a .340 batting average as a freshman and hit .365 with 8 doubles and 40 runs scored his sophomore season. The Cavemen return 6 starters this season from a 19-10 squad and look to be atop in the tough Northern Indiana Conference. Squibb marks the second Indiana prospect to commit to Heidelberg following 1B/LHP Matt Hammel from Westfield HS. |
